As High River’s longest-operating early learning program — and the only not-for-profit child care centre in town — Daydreams has proudly supported families for decades. Guided by a dedicated advisory board of parents, early learning professionals, and community stakeholders, we ensure every decision reflects our values of quality, inclusion, and care.
We believe in advocacy, community connection, and accessible early learning for all.
We are proud to be part of the Alberta–Federal Child Care Agreement, offering affordable, high-quality care as we work toward the $10-a-day childcare goal. Continuing our commitment to affordability while maintaining exceptional standards of care.
Our focus has always been — and will always be — on supporting families, not profit.
Our commitment to high-quality, relationship-based care has been recognized across Alberta.
Gold Winner in the Foothills Western Wheel Readers’ Choice Awards for Best Preschool/Child Care (2025).
GRIT Award Winner (2019) for leadership in educating the heart and strengthening social–emotional learning.
Our work has also been featured in Supporting Curriculum Practice training videos by ARCQE — a testament to our role as leaders in early learning.
Our purpose-built, eco-designed building opens into what we believe are the most inspiring outdoor play environments in High River.
Five unique yards offer children endless opportunities for exploration, creativity, and connection to nature. From gardens and forest play zones to construction areas, mud kitchens, and sensory paths, every space invites hands-on discovery and joyful play.
Here, children learn not only with their minds but with their whole bodies — developing confidence, curiosity, and a lifelong love of the outdoors.
Families are the heart of our program. We offer many opportunities for connection through family engagement activities, family fun nights, art exhibitions, seasonal events, and fundraising celebrations. These shared experiences strengthen the bond between home and program, creating a true sense of belonging for children and families alike.
As a recognized practicum learning site for Early Childhood Education students from local colleges and universities, Daydreams proudly mentors the next generation of educators.
Our team of experienced and highly qualified professionals is deeply committed to reflective practice, continuous growth, and excellence in early learning.
We are active advocates for quality child care throughout Alberta.
Our 2 buildings were created with children’s comfort and safety at the heart of every detail. We maintain exceptionally high health and safety standards, with regular inspections from fire and health services.
Inside, you’ll find:
LED lighting (no fluorescent bulbs) for a calm, natural atmosphere
Heated floors for cozy comfort for crawling children.
Air conditioning and built-in air purifiers for clean, comfortable air
Security cameras throughout the facilities for peace of mind
All educators first-aid certified and trained in emergency response
Every element of our space reflects our belief that children and families deserve the best — a safe, healthy, and inspiring environment in which to grow.
We believe collaboration enriches every child’s learning experience. Daydreams proudly partners with:
MaxECS for supportive and specialized services
Providence for Inclusive Child Care (ICC) Supports
Kids Included for inclusive education and belonging
ARCQE Pedagogical Partner for reflective curriculum development
Spark Culture and Diversity Program to celebrate and integrate diversity in our programs
These partnerships ensure that every child regardless of ability, background, or need is supported, celebrated, and given every opportunity to thrive.
As a long established program, Daydreams continues to partner with initiatives in High River, giving back to the community that has supported us for so many years.
Together, we create a place where children, educators, and families thrive — learning, growing, and dreaming under the same sunbeam.
We’d love to welcome you! Drop in during normal hours and see where wonder and play come to life.
